As many of you may know, 49th Parallel Printers got its start in the fall of 2006, when we found out that our “print services” provider, Ladysmith Printers, was planning to close his business. We quickly recognized an ongoing need for printing services in our community. Since that time, we have been very fortunate to grow and continue the business under the lead of Lesley Parent, one of our longest serving employees. At this time, however, our owners Wayne and Harmina Richmond, who have recently retired, have decided it is time to let another passionate group take the business forward.
For this reason, today, we are announcing that we will be transitioning all of our business to another local company, Canvas Plus. Alan and his team are excited to add the 49th Parallel book of accounts to the services they already provide at their store at 428 1st Avenue, Ladysmith. We know that the Canvas Plus group is a perfect fit as successor and will provide all of our customers with the same level of service you have been accustomed to.
This changeover will not happen overnight. Lesley and her team will be assisting with the transition for as long as necessary. The shop at 940 1st Avenue will be closing on August 15th to allow us to move equipment and files to the Canvas Plus location. Business will continue there as soon as we can get things moved. Our first priority will be to ensure that all of our customers are looked after. We plan to reach out and discuss this transition with all of you.
